There are always a few boats heading out in the summer, but you are playing a risky game with the weather and it's important to understand that before you book anything. I did a trip in August one time on The Junk (that boat now runs trips around Phuket and Phi Phi in the summer) - we spent 4 days hiding behind Island 8 (the biggest one), though did have some nice dives.
