Ok, so I have read the horror stories about buying equipment that require regular service (read: regulators) online - and thereby voiding warranties etc...

But what about other stuff that isn't so 'tricky'? Seems a lot of money to be saved!! For example, I recently bought a new Suunto Stinger. My LDS seels it or £460 ($780), whereas I got it "online" for £298 ($506). Thats a LOT of money saved.... money I think we all prefer to save?

So, this said - which online shops have you had (good-) experience with?

I'll start off by recommending DiversWarehouse (https://vault2.secured-url.com/mtcsl/dw/indexb.asp) who offered good price, were available on the phone (actually, they have a shop in another city) and very speedy delivery!

Thanks

PS: I hope i haven't violated any rules by posting a link to a shop here?? If I have, sorry**

Voiding of the warrenty may be mostly in the US/CAN market. With the European distributors and trade laws, you may not have the same problem.

I was happy with this shop in Spain: http://www.scubastore.com/eng/index.asp

I can second the recomendation for this shop in Spain. I got my DM from them - best price I have found anywhere, and flawless overnight delivery.

(And, thanks to previous post for the GoDive: seems good, and I didn't have them on my "compare-before-I-buy-stuff" list here)

No problem, always good to shop around! I brought my BC and regs from them you'll need to ring up for prices on most things. Ebay is good for smaller items for bargins but I guess you'd know that. :)

www.simplyscuba.co.uk are the best online store I've dealt with from Europe. I received some regulators from them in yoke, not DIN - the mixup was because of a glitch in their website shopping cart losing the comments that included the DIN request, so they shipped what appeared to them to be what had been ordered, but they made good without fuss and sent out two DIN conversion kits at no cost (from UK to US). Other purchases have been hassle-free, but it's this type of after-sales service that makes a store worthy of repeat custom in my opinion.

www.diveinn.com (same as www.scubastore.com) is a close second, but I prefer Simply Scuba to DiveInn if they have the same stuff at a similar price - DiveInn (in Spain) often send a foreign-language manual with a B&W english manual photocopied, Simply Scuba is in the UK and sends original english manuals.

Blatant plug - best Australian online store is www.scubaroo.com.au

you bought a divemaster? (sorry that was what i thought when i read it)

given that a lot of american s buy from diveinn.com (scubastore) they must be doing something right..i've bought from them a couple of times, and they have been excellent, shipping lightening quick to the west coast

My favorite is http://www.diveshop.nl/ however I'm not sure how they handle payments from outside NL since they don't take credit cards. One plus for them is they've just translated their whole site into english.

I had a good experience with Deep Blue.

http://www.deepbluedive.com/

No USA Scubapro dealer even knew a Scubapro second stage add-on bubble deflector assembly existed, and when informed, none I found cared to order it for a US customer (me). No problem, I cut out the middleman and ordered myself from the UK. Got a free bottle of ear dry with the order - that happened to be the 'bonus gift' they were running for orders that month. Shipping was quick and communication before, during, and after the sale was superb.

I'll keep the links posted in this thread in mind for future offerings not available in the USA as potential places to order from.
