Paging @tbone1004 and @victorzamora, tall diving specialists.

Unfortunately, @rhwestfall said it best: It sucks that there's so few choices. With DSS being in limbo, I'm not sure that there ARE any good options out there besides used DSS plates.

A standard-sized BPW can be made to fit passably well, especially at 6'3" you're likely just at the VERY tall end of (or just barely too tall for) a standard-length backplate.

I'm actually curious: What would it take to make a custom soft backplate, similar to the Apeks or OxyCheq Ultra Lite backplates? Maybe something custom would be an option if soft were okay?

@victorzamora a HD sewing machine and the right material. Replicating the Oxycheq plate wouldn't be hard at all. Dive Rite used to make a long pattern transpac which is what is on my Nomad but discontinued that a few years ago as well

I'm wondering what it would take to make some SS and aluminum plates. I see some on ebay that appear to be from China. You could probably order a run of a couple hundred back plates with specifications.
