Well i'm not one to moan but........
Walked into my LDS with two sets of twins to get air fills one twin 7's and one twin 10's .
Normally i get fills for my single 12 and 15 and it costs £2.50 for 12ltr and £3.00 for 15ltr which i do not have a problem with as it is about average for uk.
so after filling both twins he charges me £10.00 ....now i don't mind paying £5 for the twin 10's but for the twin 7's i had to have a grumble. Both the twin sets are maifolded but the 7's do not have an iso ,so i asked how he could justify charging me £5 for 14 ltr on a twin and only £3 on a 15 ltr and his answer was " i have to fill two tanks " so sarcastic me said do you fill each side independantly he says "no but it takes longer two fill two tanks"
I'm not sure if i angry because he thinks i'm dumb or for the extra £2 on the fill.I normal get min 1 fill a week and if away for a whole weekend 4-6 fills so over the year this adds up to quite a bit of cash.
As he was filling i was asking the price for getting the 10's O2 cleaned he offered a good price (£20) but i dread the price of his nirtox fill.

OK rant over ...

regards ,

MAL...

that's outrageous - was he the owner? If not I would ask to speak to him. If he was, well then I would hate to be trained by him.

Just hope it was not my old LDS :D

Wow with the rate of exchange to the rand
THATS A PRICY FILL you looking at about R20-25 PER CYLINDER
for a fill here ahout 2,5 quid.
Nitrox about 50 rand.
Compresors are pricy to service and here they rquire a service cert yearly on the compressor.
But man that guy is fleecing you
Howard.

Like Johnathan said, you should have a talk with the owner...if that wasn't him. If he WAS the owner...I'd find a new fill station. I've never heard of anyone charging extra because it takes a little longer to fill.

Is it the only LDS in town? Sounds like you need some competition there. Or is there collusion?

I hardly think so - there are quite a few shops.

I used to get mine free but then I was usually the ones filling tanks. We would just go by tank size not configuration.
