1. Design
The design of the 1st stage has changed.

2. Performance
a) 1st stage Ports:
Whereas the 42 has 1 DFC (Dynamic Flow Control) LP port for the 2st stage, the 52 has 2 dedicates DFC LP ports for the 2nd stage reg & Octopus.
So both 42 & 52 have 2 HP ports, 42 has 1 DFC LP & 3 LP ports, and the 52 has 2 DFC LP ports and 2 LP ports.

Weight:
The 52 is heavier than the 42 by 35 g in the INT version and 61 g in the DIN version.
