it's the prices i question??.....it seems they continue to rise.

I wouldn’t say they ‘continue to rise.’ A few have raised prices modestly others have not. Starfish, Kyalami, Loggerhead I know have raised prices a bit. Pura Vida has not.

I’m not aware of any who have raised their rates multiple times.

Charters out of Boynton Beach for 2 tank dive, no rental cylinders:
Underwater Explorers $70
Loggerhead $75
Splashdown $80
Starfish $91

JDC is $100, keep in mind the bottom time is 45 min rather than an hour

Well, Starfish quoted me $285 for 2 tank dive (steel nitrox) plus a guide (they do not put a guide in The water as part of the dive). Bit pricy imo.

The private guide is the killer. That’s probably half of that total.

None of the boats in Boynton put a group guide in the water as they do in Palm Beach & Jupiter. Actually nowhere else in FL does that in my experience. It’s a unique practice to those two locations.

Yup. Guide =$150 (plus tip). $135 for me (2 tanks). Seems pricy. Diving 6 dives in Key Largo Next weekend (guide included with boat) for $245

Many of the Key Largo boats include tanks in the price. If you don't own your own tanks it is a good deal. I didn't realize some of the boats down there put in group guide in the water. Good to know. Who are you diving with?

If you want a guide included, dive in West Palm or Jupiter. I can vouch for Walker's Dive Charters, Narcosis, and Jupiter Dive Center. However, my favorite reefs are in Boynton Beach. You could always find a buddy or a group to dive with.

Ditto for Kaylami (Jupiter Scuba Diving) and Pura Vida. All these operators are top notch, safe charters that put a group guide in the water with you.

Keep in mind that there are negatives to the group guide approach. Primarily you are stuck diving with a large group whether you like it or not. When the boat is full that can definitely be a negative. I've been kicked and landed on many, many times. I often stay just close enough to the guide to have the safety of their flag overhead but to also keep a distance from the crowd. At the end of the dive I will often times ascend with the guide since I'm typically one of the last ones down with them. Otherwise I will shoot my DSMB and ascend alone.

Rainbow Reef. Will let you know. Seem very friendly. Their website shows that last week they saw two hammerheads at Molasses Reef (!).
