You guys are all wrong! A big bird with black wings named Nyx laid an egg, and when the egg hatched, half of the egg became the earth, the other half became the sky. The god of love, Eros, hatched from the egg, and named the sky Uranus, and the earth Gaia. Then Eros made Uranus and Gaia fall in love with eachother.

Or was it the green shoot that grew out of the depths of the ocean, became a god, and created its fellow gods Izanagi and Izanami? Izanagi wanted to see what was at the bottom of the ocean, so he thrust his staff into the water, and when he pulled it out seven clumps of muck fell off and stayed at the surface, becoming Japan...

No...wait a minute...I know....it was Tepeu and Gucumatz, the feathered serpent, who thought of the earth one day, and there it was, then thought of the trees and plants, and presto! Then thought of the sky and animals..and eventually people....

No...hold on a second....we have been here all along, but we and all the animals used to live underground, and all of the animals lived in harmony and peace. Then Kaang, the Great Master and Lord of All Life, created a big tree and helped all of the animals and people to climb out of the hole and up to the surface...

Or was it perhaps the great Father of All Spirits, who gently woke up the Sun Mother, and instructed her to wake up the rest of the spirits and give them form, thus creating and awakening all of the plants and animals on earth?

But of course, none of these are possible, because the Christian Creation Myth is the only one that really happened.... :shakehead

I do believe the diving preacher has shown your defective conclusions. It does matter, do you think you are smarter than all people that have faith in God?

i don't necessarily think i'm smarter than people that have actual faith. those people are notably absent from this thread though...

Where do you think your intelligence has come from?

the end product of a few billion years of genetic evolution and a few thousand years of cultural evolution.

One big question for you to answer..............do you believe there is evil in our world?

probably not the way that you do.

Yeah ... but then you believe that the world's 6,000 years old too.
caymaniac:

I know that I'm smarter than at least the same percentage of folks who don't have faith in God. So what?
caymaniac:
Where do you think your intelligence has come from?
Time.
caymaniac:
One big question for you to answer..............do you believe there is evil in our world?
Yes, and a large part of it can be summed in one word: Ignorance.
