Can anyone tell me why they would purchase a DC800 as opposed to a DC600?

I've taken pictures with the 600 and had a buddy useing the 800. They both perform great for what they cost. I imagine by the time you get a response to your question there will be a new one out though the tec is just improving so fast you can't buy them before they are obsolete.

Big thing is the standard arms aren't long enough and you end up getting a lot of noise.

I have both a DC600 and have recently bought the DC800. The biggest improvement is that the DC800's batterys will last a days diving. With my DC600 I only got about 30 minutes of diving/picture taking and they were dead. I've done two 70 minute dives with my DC800 and still had plenty of battery life left that I probably could have done a third dive.

Thanks for that info. I sold a DC600 on e-bay w/ wide ange lens, strobe, the whole works because of the short battery life. The other complaint I'd had was the sometimes difficult alignment of the polyoptic fiber at the camera and on the strobe so that the darn thing would reliably fire. Have they improved this as well?
Thanks - Mr. Pat
