Different Vypers

Sorry for this question if it's been asked before. I am researching (much more than I thought I would) my first computer. I have a few models in mind one of them being the Vyper. My question is, are there more than one type of model Vyper on the market? or are older models being sold as new? The reason I ask is that some ads show a model with a silver "metal" face and some show a dark/black face?

I don't know about different models of Vyper, but I'd like to say that LeisurePro sell new Vypers for $299, just about $10 more than on eBay link you posted.
Just got mine from them couple weeks ago.

My Vyper, which I purchased in the Fall of '99 has a green face on it. I think that they are the same internally, just different packages. ZG

There seems to have been two different colors used - Teal and Silver. Teal being older, Silver being newer Vypers. I've no idea if there are any algorithm differences or bug fixes making the old one obsolete.

and newer Vyper models- I think that old models have fixed pins in the data transfer socket, whereas newer models have "springy" pins which make easier and better contact.
However, I don't think this difference is color-related

springy contacts on the vyper? All that I have seen are fixed, regardless of the model. Springy contacts on a dive computer doesn't sound like a good idea... Springy contacts on the interface is a different story...
