If you're using a long hose....it is inevitable that the snorkel will get in the way if you are deploying/restowing the hose.....

If you are single tank diving.........consider the hose routing. 7 foot works best when you have something on your right hipm to loop it aound before passing it across your chest...namely a canister light. Other folks advocate using a 7 and tucking the extra into your harness belt......

I'm using a 5' now and it works fine...but this can be body size and gear specific. If you are ordering from EE, you can always order multiple sizes (5, 6 or 7) and then send back the 2 you don want.....or be like me, order them all and then add them to your ever-growing gear inventory in your basement....;-)
