The nice thing about a one button computer is there is never any question about which button to press.:D I finally bought my wife a 2 button Oceanic which she is going to use for the first time in a couple week. I'm not really looking forward to it.

Why not just reward yourself by taking that one button computer on a dive trip.

I would do the same thing I did. Buy two Suunto Gekkos (now Zoop) They do everything I need them to, and then I have a backup in case I do something stupid like break/lose one on a dive trip.

I'm a big fan of the Mares Icon HD Net Ready. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth the price? IMHO, absolutely. Huge, clear, bright color screen. Intuitive, easy to use and easy to learn. Great battery life. I've been diving with mine for about a year, in various conditions, and I couldn't be happier with it. As for cave diving, the screen is made of mineral glass and, while not bullet proof, it is very tough. As extra protection, I added a Zagg screen protector.

I agree with Jim get the Shearwater. Its the best dive computer you can have. You'll never outgrow it, Its easy to use and very easy to see at night or in a cave.

Personally, I'd love something like the Suunto Vytec with an OLED. Basically, I just want a reliable bottom timer with no stupid tapping and a bright screen, with one-press resettable seconds timer and decent battery life.

Both the X1 or predator are good choices. I love my X1 and my friends with shearwaters love theirs.

IMO, the best dive computer, would tell me where the lost Rolex watches are, or sunken treasure :rofl3:; I would like for it pay for itself. Maybe even Richard Branson's underwater plane, you know that think has a computer on it. But these would be 1 off dive computer, so I bet price would matter :rofl3:.
