Newbie-in-fl's Nassau Dive Report.
Dive report from non diving vacation to Nassau.
I was traveling with a nondiver and was recovering
from bronchitis so I only did one dive on this trip.
Dive 1 10/17
Shark Arena: Max Depth 39' Dive time 40 minutes Water temp 82
I could not pass up the opportunity to experience the
shark feeding dive. Definitely an exciting experience, and
surprisingly I was scared for only a few seconds. Saw about 20-25
Caribbean Reef Sharks and one large nurse shark. After DM fed
the sharks, they slowly dispersed and we searched for sharks teeth
on the floor. I would have preferred to explore instead.
The dive was great with viz 50-80ft. Seas were flat to 1. The dive op was
Stuart Cove and although it is a big operation, everything is well
organized. We had 8 divers for the shark dives. I dove with Nitrox
and it was only $10 extra (other ops were quoting $12-14). My only
frustration is that SC limits your dive time regardless if you have a computer
and/or use Nitrox.
