Analog SPG. Dive computer is hopeless air integrated.

What is the basis for this assertation? I frequently dive with a Shearwater Teric and have yet to have the Air Integration fail. All mechanical things will fail eventually, including an Analog SPG, but modern computers and AI transmitters are extremely reliable. In point of fact I often use two transmitters on different tanks and have 0 issues with the Teric not only monitoring Gas pressure but also giving me live estimates of Gas Time Remaining based on my SAC/RMV and Total Time to Surface.

An AI computer should never replace proper dive planning and a working knowledge of NDLs and gas consumption rates but I the best laid plans frequently do not survive first contact and computers are invaluable tools to assist in those situations.
