Apparently she was a PhD student specialising in Marine Currents.
I know nothing about this organization, but most organizations conducting scientific research usually require serious training for the divers.

This link seems to have a video of the wreck but I didn’t see a description about when this footage was taken.

Looks like a silty wreck with lots of entrapment possibilities. The depth of 35-40m is a factor. Also, it looks like the vessel is inverted and the only access point is on the underside (so hard to qualify this as a swim-through for all): El Soo Yang. El Narcótico. Eduardo Grandio

Apparently video of inside the wreck from the recovery team. Not a place to go without running a line.

I agree, but we dont know if she was qualified, or if she had a line or not?
Would be interesting to know

I think unless you have an inside source you are unlikely to have more information now.

There is a line in the video. I wonder if it was run by the recovery team or the deceased diver.

That’s a good question: I had assumed it was from the recovery team.

Whoever is fluent in Spanish can discern a recovery (emergency) dive from a show-and tell dive.
Calm voice and music score—-must be the latter?

EDIT: The post above mine appeared seconds before mine was posted. This quote from the new article suggests it was, indeed, a seriously difficult penetration.

It might also be the case of her slitting up behind herself and continuing to swim towards the clear water in front of her.
