We don't even want to do deco dives or penetration, they just won't let you on the boat with doubles.

I called six shops in Key West today. None of them allow doubles, most of the shops only stay at the wreck between 20-30 min., and some of them only let you go to 100' because they only offer guided tours. Just some info for those of you thinking about diving it. Prices ranged from $55-$99 without any gear.
Call Captains Corner and get on the Sea Eagle. They have the lowest trip prices on the Island, but the crew is great and they are all about a good time, not raping you for your hard earned money like some other operators in town are doing by hyper-inflating their rates.

I have never dove any types of wrecks like these so forgive my ignorance. But, is it contracted to the local dive shops in some way to prevent private boats from mooring up there? If not, than what is the proper etiquette. Why would I want to pay 50-100 bucks to a dive shop when I can go there for free!!
mooring balls are first come, first served.
Thanks Mike,
That's what I was thinking.......... So why don't a group of SB'ers get together on a boat and do a Vandenberg Dive, it would be more fun than going with strangers.
