We are about to head to Eleuthera and are stoked because it will be our honeymoon. We are hoping to get some input from anyone who has dove there. We would like to hear stories and suggestions. Please do not hesitate to include pics or videos.

We've been to Eleuthera twice. It is EXTREMELY laid back and low key. At the time of our second trip (2 yrs ago) they had just opened a dive shop at the south end, a good 2 hrs from the main town, Governor's Harbour. The weather was awful (30 mph winds and 8 ft seas) so the boat didn't go out. I've read that the diving at the south end is breathtaking. There is/(was?) a small dive shop in the Governor's Harbour, in the middle of the island. We rented tanks there one day and swam out to Laughing Bird Key, a small, scrubby little island off shore from the side of the library. On the ocean side of that key was all kinds of life. When I look at pictures now I can't believe we swam that far to it. I would recommend a small boat, even a row boat. We also rented tanks and dove right off our beach. Not a lot of fish at that time, but still interesting. You can also go to Harbour Island, at the northeastern tip, and they have 2 dive ops there, Valentine's and Ocean Fox's. I don't remember which we went with but the diving was OK. We didn't do the famous "Current Cut " dive. A word of warning: Bring thick wetsuits. The water was cold, even in June, and while 73 or so degrees doesn't sound that cold, it's actually freezing when you're submerged. I have some photos on Webshots - Photo Sharing, Free Wallpaper and Free Screensavers . Put in bethlarsen1 on the search. Hope you have fun and congrats on the the upcoming wedding!
