UP: Thanks, I could actually get into a site seeing dive about now. Within the last four weeks I've had two hammerheads get pretty frisky with me. Yesterday, one came up off the bottom to hang with me on my safety stop.

I have a full body Henderson hyperstretch that I believe is actually rated for as cold as mid-40s. I have done several dives as cold as 54 and was fine in that suit. How cold are your waters, and what is the coldest you'll see in Winter? I am wondering how big a window I have to get in a dive this year, because I have no desire to dive a dry suit.

scubasonic: Thanks for that info. I'll be in touch.

water always seems to be in the low 50's, maybe 54 on the surface and 49 at depth. As far as window of diving opportunity you can dive a wetsuit all year long if you want to. The water temp doesn't change that much. It is just cold as hell when you get out of the water..hahaha. You need to make a mad dash for the truck or get a dive parka..hahaha

Damn, that's cold! Reminds me of the angle worm in the hen house....:D

I am looking for someone or many to dive with. I live in Portland and have only dived in WA. Puget Sound or Hood Canel so far.

I usually have Tue or Wed off. If anyone would like to dive on those days, contact me.

I am new to diving but would love to dive as much as possible.

Anyone willing to dive from the Portland area during the mid week please contact me at ptldblazerfan@hotmail.com to make arrangements.

Again, I am new to diving but I own all my own gear and need to use it.
