so I took the battery out last night and touched the 2 terminals with metal simultaneously, put the battery back in and all is good.

Right you are, Bill....I think in another thread the Aeris/Oceanic guys said
they ship the dive computers with Sony batteries.
So I'd be willing bet the battery indicator probably works pretty well for Sony batteries.

Thanks for your post.... However, I am wondering what is for to touch two terminals?
Is this for a reset procedure? Is this a temporary remedy or final solution?
