You would better off buying a reg set before a BCD.

Regarding the B1, $200 is not a bad price for the reg and the Cobra computer. Much of it depends on whether it has had the piston upgrade.

Upgrading and servicing a second stage would be around $100. Upgrading and servicing the first stage would be around $125 (if just servicing $75). You can drive up to AA yourself and they will do the servicing.

The one item you have not figured in is the hose. It might be ready to be replaced.

Finally, regarding sealing the first stage. For SoCal diving I would not bother, just costs ya extra and just makes a mess when servicing.

So as you can see it can add up. And though when fully upgraded and serviced you have a B2 often one can find a newer B2 for about the same (it might need servicing too).
