We are thinking about a cruise to Bermuda next year. Would have 2 FULL days for diving. Would love to dive some of the wrecks. What are the best 8-10 wrecks or reefs? Best night dive?

We will be in port at St. George. Is there an operator that will pick us up there? Sounds like it is a little tough to get around with gear.

We also have a full afternoon/evening/night free for siteseeing. Any suggestions for that?

Thanks for the help.

Nearest dive store is Triangle Diving, which a short distance from the dock in St George (ran by Graham and Dane). I've seen posts in Scubaboard to say that they'll collect you from the dock , but I can't personally confirm. Night Dives might be a bit limited, as I know their boat is also sometimes used for evening charter.

Triangle tend to dive on the eastern side of the island, so expect wrecks lik 'Kate', 'Zovetto' and 'Richard P. Buck'. I've blatanly stolen those names from an excellent book named 'Bermuda Shipwrecks by Daniel & Denise Berg' (ISBN 0-9616167-4-1). The book is a bit dated but is written solely for divers (I use it all the time).

Also in St George is a beach called Tobacco bay, which has recently been voted one of the top 10 places in the world for snorkelling. Not sure if it's THAT great, but still loads fun.

As for the evening time, check out Bermuda Vacations, Meetings, Weddings, Guide, History & Culture | Bermudatourism.com - Feel the Love. Good site for checking out forthcoming events. If you're after the sedate and relaxation then you're staying in the right area, but if you wanted more nightlife, then you'll probably be better off heading into hamilton, which is a 35 minute taxi / bus ride.

Apologies for the vagueness but lemme know if you need any more info.

Thanks for the info BDA. Not a lot of traffic on the Bermuda site. If we decide to take the cruise I'll try to get back in touch.

For sightseeing I love to walk the streets of St. Georges. The church is lovely and the graveyard. Super photo ops. Walk to the Bermuda Perfume store. I wear Navy, a men's cologne and love it. Walk up the hill to Tobacco Bay and then down to Ft. St. Catherine for a swim. Then continue walking (it's a loop) back to town. This walk is hilly so it is for the experienced healthy walker. In town walk to the liquor store and take the pink bus to Hamilton. Poke around town. I love the Irish Linen shop for Soulieado fabrics and Madeira lace. See the Cathedral on the hill and the National Art Gallery.

So much to do..what are you interests? Are you confidant to rent a scooter? It is the best way to get around.

I have been to BDA 20+ times and stayed in St. G 4 times, once at an Inn and twice on the Majesty.
