Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach Newbie...

I'm an experienced diver, 50-plus dives under my belt, Nitrox certified.

I an interested in learning to scuba spearfish from a boat, at reasonable depths, no deco dives. I like to fish and lobster, and I'd been admiring the nice hogfish some fellow boat divers brought on board :cool2:

Is there any local club around the area? Or just anyone who wants to dive together and show a newbie the ropes?

Try sending a pm to debbydiver or onespeed. They can definitely help you out in lobstering. spearing, and diving in Ft Lauderdale.

If you haven't already, you might consider joining spearfishingplanet and spearboard. Both have forums dedicated to your area (I'm in NC and they have one for mine as well). As a relative newbie, I have found those forums to be very informative and a great way to connect with other spear fishermen.
