We went diving last Saturday and her Zoop has been frozen since then. This probably had nothing to do with anything but she was unable to equalize so she was only wet for a few minutes. This Zoop is a backup and has already been replaced by an Oceanic BUD. We replaced all 3 of our Zoop's with the BUD in fact. Any ideas as to what is wrong? Or is it garbage as I don't want to spend a dime on it and also can't sell it. Only 50 dives.

i would just send then in to suunto they should replace them as they do seem to suffer with this concern

Seen it happen once or twice, tried a battery pull?

I've seen this time and time again. The sensors don't stand up well to pool chemicals from what we've experienced. Send it back to Aqualung (Suunto). Our shop has returned countless numbers of Zoops over the past couple years. IF you're the original owner, send it back. Otherwise, you can play hockey with it, Ayh?

Looks like it thinks it's still underwater? You could try an overnight soak in fresh water, might have some salt crystals in the pressure sensor aperture

Put it in the microwave and set it to "thaw", that should take care of it...

:D

Why would you wear a diving computer in a swimming pool?

Practice as if it were a real dive. Trying to be more comfortable with operating your computer underwater. Air integration so monitoring your air.

While diving in a pool may not be an official you can practice and get used to equipment or see if the placement works without interfering with other equipment.

Why would you wear a diving computer in a swimming pool?

Because, our shop teaches computers along with tables. We have the students in computers from the first time they are in scuba to start learning how to use & read the computers. The instructors wear their computers as a reinforcement. You would be amazed at how many divers can not work or even read their own computers & lock them up because they are in decompression & don't even know it. Better to teach a good habit from the get- go than to have to unteach a bad habit later.
