I have one app on my phone (i messed around with the subsurface app but I don't find a use for it on my phone, just on my pc).
It has all my run/dive/hike/bike data on it.
If I wanted to, I could switch from Simrad to Garmin on my boats and have all that data there too.
Okay. But, I don't see how simply all being in one app is a benefit to you. I'm asking, how does it actually benefit you to have your dive data in the same app as your run/hike/bike data? Having it all on your phone is great. But, how does having it all in one APP benefit you?
Here are a couple of examples of how it benefits me to have my dive data in Subsurface. Maybe you can give me some examples of how it benefits you to have your dive data in the app with your run/hike/bike data.
Having my dive data in Subsurface:
- I can quickly and easily download via BT to my phone, while still out at sea (i.e even with no cell coverage), and then it is just "there" when I get back to my laptop and open Subsurface there.
- Subsurface-mobile on my phone captures GPS data, so my I can have the GPS coordinates of my dives included in the data that goes into my log (assuming I take my phone with me on the boat, which I always do).
- I can (very quickly and easily) check "how many dives have I done deeper than 100 feet"?
- I can check "how much time on the loop do I have on my CCR?
- What was the water temperature in NC when I have dived there in October of any year and what exposure protection did I wear?
- What was my RMV when I was diving in XYZ conditions?
- How many dives have I done in doubles? On CCR?
- Show me a map of all the places I've dived.
- Plan a subsequent dive immediately after a dive I just did, where the planner reflects the inert gas tissue loading I have from the first dive.
What are examples of the benefits you get from having dive data mixed in with your other fitness data? Obviously, the examples I gave are only for diving. Having other fitness data in the same app would be moot. So, what are you able to do because you have all that data in one app?
Do you do things like say "how many dives and runs did I do when I was in Hawaii?" How does knowing that you did 27 dives or runs in Hawaii benefit you? Do you want to compare your heart rate when you're diving to your heart rate when you're running? How does that benefit you?
