For beach dives, probably IOP or Futo are the best, for boat dives, well, nothing can compare to Mikomoto. For boat dives, maybe Koura or Tago on the west coast, or Atami or IOP on the east coast.

Shall we start a poll?

Hehe why not. I'm really interested in Mikomoto but hear that the conditions are really hard. How hard are they really? Do you need reef hooks or any special equipment there?

No need for a reef hook but you will need a huge smb (alert marker) in case you drift away from the boat, good buoyancy skills as the currents can take you anywhere (including down) and team awareness not to get separated exiting at multiple places. It is going to be quite deep so you will need to have experience on deeper diving. The dive boats requires all divers to have AOW and 100 dives experience.
