Does any one know if one or two night liveaboard trips are available in phuket, hopefully close to karon/patong, basically breaking away from my group sunday afternoon and am free until tuesday morning, so looking to pack some serious diving in during then.

Monday-Tuesday you could make an overnight trip to Phi Phi, but return will be in the afternoon on Tuesday. You could also do a trip to the Similans (2 days/1 night), return Tuesday early evening.

Here's an overnight trip on the MV Greta that might interest you.
Closest to your requirements is a Monday departure, 7.20am pickup from your hotel in Patong and then a great cruise / diving, overnight on Phi Phi, more great cruising / diving and arrive back at the port at 4.30pm for your transfer to Patong.
Good trip, but might be pushing your time limits a bit.
