I've been to one once and one twice. I actualy walked to the one in Brooklyn (once) and, yeah, talked to the paintball kid
minding the store for minute and left. I bought a hose from the other one which is only six blocks away and although I have no beef with the guy yet, I'm open to persuasion. That's the extent of my affiliation. I'm no tech diver, but the other two stores you mentioned are pretty much useless to me. I'm actually curious about the answer to this question, but, I've walked (obviously) and I've walked and havn't found any others besides the first two. We're affiliated by bunions and stinky feet only. (Meant no offense by the rhetoric thing but I try not resort to smiley faces)

I hear you... I am trying not post publicly the reasons why I don't go to various shops anymore, as I have been accused in the past of slandering when I was just sharing my personal experiences... but I understand how this could damage the shop's reputation, so I am not going to post publicly any of my encounters with these people, so I'll just leave it at that.

If you're willing to go into Westchester or NJ for a decent dive shop, then I would second Long Island Scuba. Take the Southern State to exit 35, head south on Wellwood for about half a mile and it's right there on the right hand side. My wife and I have been there a couple of times and were satisfied with their inventory, professionalism, and friendliness. Here's thier website: http://www.longislandscuba.com/
Be forewarned, they don't update their website in terms of classes and dives. Better to call them to see what is available when.
Good Luck!
