GoPro Anti-Fog Inserts: Really Necessary?

I always do the air-conditioner trick previously mentioned. I still out the anti-fog inserts in in case I have to do a battery swap on the boat, (letting humidity in). I leave my LCD on the entire dive. Never any issues for me using those steps. Having the peace of mind knowing that fog won't ruin my footage is why I use the inserts. I just went on a Shark dive in the Bahamas and would've been upset if fog ruined any of the footage. I've never been this close to this many shark. Only have to buy the inserts once - bake them on a tray in the oven and re-seal them in the Baggie - good as new.
