The ignore feature seemed like a cop-out to me, so I tried a more direct approach:

It would probably be best for the Scubaboard in general if you and I stopped responding to each other's posts. Nothing personal, but there is already too much pointless bickering here without us. You may have the last word.

I also wanted to concede that I bore some of the blame for not restraining myself from responding. It takes (at least) two people to have a pointless argument.

I guess the ignore option is the next step though.
