Hello Scott, welcome to Charlotte and congratulations on getting you OW certification. There is some decent diving in the area to get you in practice for the wrecks off the coast. This is a good area for diving, we're within a few hours of almost any type of diving you want, fresh water, wreck, during the summer you have warm water ocean, and you can even do black water in SC. Hope to run into you sometime and we can get a dive in.
