I'm doing the annual on my HOG second. When the poppet (part 20 piston) is reinserted what is the proper orientation of the opening for the legs of the lever arm. It looks like it should be towards the diaphragm, but towards the mouth piece looks like it would work also.
 
if you put it in wrong it has been known to work, and also to slip off. If it decides to slip the second stage will cease to deliver gas.

Thank you that explains it very well. What is the recommendation for the lever arm. Do you advocate removing it from the barrel or leaving it connected.
