You generally get what you pay for. Whilst a gravel pit is not the nicest place to dive, they are well set up for training and aren’t susceptible to weather cancellations.Cheaper than UK and not doing yr OW in a horrid gravel pit :/
I can one better you. There is a gas station in my neighborhood that has a freshly shucked clam stand kind of next to the pumps. Mind you. This is a block away from the East River in Manhattan. Not only gas station clams but East River clams. You'd have to be very brave or equally as stupid.
I have never gotten sick from either gas station sushi nor east river clams, not have I ever been injured or learned anything dangerous from taking or teaching a PADI course.3 words: gas station sushi.....
