I have mine AL30 in a DIR style sling cliped on my right side d ring under my arm then on the back of my BC, I clip my reg on my lef side d ring, valve sits easly reached at chest leavel by either my left or my right hand.

I have to unclip the reg when i take the BC off, becaus the hose runs across the front of my chest. Barley notice the pony in the water, Hardly any drag.

There's pros and cons to all the styles you just read. One thing to keep in mind is that it all depends on the dive.
