As has been discussed in several threads the PPD forum is going to change in structure (though hopefully not in nature) One part of that change is the creation of the new sub-forum "Barangay Pasaway" which will be opt-in for whoever wishes, and will probably be very 'local' as the language or dialect used will be completely up to the posters. When this forum is created (a couple of days probably) then we would ask everyone to only post in English in the main PPD forum so that all the members of SB can fully understand what happens here. An occasional expression in a local dialect with a translation will still be acceptable, but whole sentences and conversations will result in threads being moved to the new forum, or posts simply being deleted. This will not apply to any threads to date - only new posts from when the forum is created. This separation of language is simply to ensure that every club has it's main area accessable to all of our members and remove any barriers that not understanding posts might cause. It is NOT intended to be divisive or in any way discriminatory. It is also a protype model of how we think we can set up any future clubs/forums where language might be an issue. We really hope that this idea will prove to be successful however, IF IT IS NOT IT WILL BE ROLLED BACK AND SIMPLY DISAPPEAR. We have absolutely no intention of allowing anything to destroy the spirit of the PPD forum. This is an experiment, not a foregone conclusion. Please remember though - you will need to OPT-IN to access the new sub-forum. People who are not members of that forum WILL NOT SEE THE THREADS.

This though is only one part of the changes that are now going to happen. For some time now Paolov has been helping me run this forum in a semi-official capacity. He has put a lot of time and effort into it and between us I'd like to think that we have been giving you what you wanted. From now, the position that he has been doing is going to be made into an official 'Club Guide' one - complete with a new 'status' badge and access to the Guides 'backroom' home. Apart from helping me with maintenance issues and translations for stuff I can't follow, the new 'Club Guide' will become the official co-ordinator for club events such as your Dive-O-Ramas etc. As such the Club Guide will be able to draw on any resources that SB can offer to assist in making these events even bigger and more successful. One of those will be a large club banner provided by SB which can be used at club events. Paolov has indicated that this new role might require someone new to do it. As a result of his recommendations, and my invitation, Spoon (Carlo) has accepted this position and will therefore become the first official Club Guide for the PPD, and in fact on all of SB. I would like to thank Paolov very much for all his hard work to date and I'm sure that he will continue to help Carlo and myself when needed. Carlo will probably also ask various people for assistance in organising club events etc.
I intend to continue to support you guys and help to make the PPD the best club it can be within SB, setting a bar that others will follow. I look forward to working with Carlo from now and I'm sure we'll be a great team.

OK.....I've finished. Now I'm going to drink a beer to the PPD forum....

Kanpai!

Thanks Kim! I will raise a glass tomorrow night: Salud!!! Spoon will be unavailable this weekend. We'll celebrate this on the boat. :14:

@ Spoon: Good job bro! Way to make history! Wish I could be around here for the entire year to see where this goes (I'll still be a SB regular though!).

btw Spoon, no funny stuff like the politicians around here! And no police escorts - a barangay councilman deserves to wait in traffic like everyone else! :)

Shouldn't the PM be wrapped in a $20?

And congrats Spoon! Or maybe "my sympathies" would be more appropriate with this crowd :D

midwestdvr:
And what's a tanod?
a barangay tanod is a community watchman - usually a volunteer... since in very many instances the barangay (smallest community/ local govt. unit) has not decent budget, tanods are issued a batuta (billy clubs) or arnis sticks or tonfas to help keep the peace as they patrol the neighborhoods

i want a batoots hehehehehe
