OK, I finally got around to defraging, after the analysis I got this message:

Analysis is complete for: Local Disk (C:)

You do not need to defragment this volume.

I deleted a lot of old emails...and some other unimportant stuff, should I defrag anyway??

Kim:
Won't hurt a thing. I do at times in spite of that notice, altho it may be silly to do so - it's still harmless.

I ran the defrag and it took 4 hours...lets see if it makes any difference
Gawd, but you are up early. Yeah, I usually Defrg when I head for bed.

I don't know that you'll notice a difference, just a good general idea.

Looked at Best Buy's site last night for a friend wanting a laptop. Of course, this year's model similar to my laptop has a lot more hard drive and comes with 512 Mb Ram instead of 256 - expandable to 2 gig. Wow.
