jacket style vs. back inflation

I also have been debating what style BC to buy. My first BC was a Scubapro Gluide Plus. I liked it but I'm thinking about getting a back inflate this time but non of the local dive shops have any back inflate style that I can rent to tryout.

Some of us *like* the squeeze you get from a jacket BCD, and the pockets are a nice touch.

Having never tried it, but know other people must do it, I'm assuming a nice relaxing surface swim on your back is not *too* much harder in a back-inflate or BP/W? I don't usually dive with people wearing snorkels.
