definitely a legitimate business. Customer service, however, is HORRIBLE. They make an art form out of being off-putting and making you feel like you are bothering them. I hold my breath that things will go smoothly and that I will not have to call, email, or return items to them because they are so consistently unpleasant. I believe that they prefer it this way and that they believe their low prices and high selection will ensure steady business. On the other hand, their business style can be quaint, if you might have an appreciation for the old no-nonsense Lower East Side Jewish merchant culture. But I sense that this no-nonsense NYC Jewish merchant culture becomes particularly abrasive as an internet business, largely because the sense of community and communication from agonistic face-to-face interaction is completely lost. They are not a ripoff operation. But they are an anachronism, and because I sometimes enjoy indulging my nostalgic impulses, I will occasionally buy from them, but mostly only as a last resort.
