Maybe because summer is over and the demand on the weekends from Locals is going to go down?

The lady I talked to the last time I was there said that the plan was for it to unmanned in the winter. Not sure if this is a different plan.

That's what I heard a few weeks ago.
 
The nice lady at the gate noted Royal was going to the same model next year. She said the little river riff raff is now up at royal.
 
Hours have changed! It's only open from 9 to 5 until the clocks change again.
And that it will be manned with $5 admission year-round (7 days a week) starting Sat Nov 4.

This comes from the staff on site as of Nov 3 and is a decision that was just made based on shenanigans that occured during the brief unmanned period recently.

Also the algae on the cement steps is slippery AF. They are trying to warn divers about it, but it's the worst I've seen (and slipped and fallen on my ass because of).
