I'm a big fan of the finger push-off and the finger crawl. Sometimes when you're in a tight spot, you can't move your feet without stirring up all kinds of crap. If your fins start to scrape or get too close to something, just find something hard and non-mobile to use to push/pull/pivot yourself out of the way. It's also a nicer thing to do when the object in question that is interfering with your fins is other divers, that just think the logos on my fins are the coolest thing since Page and Plant...

We didn't find the reel, but 2 local TV stations ran bits about our search, and the guy who HAD found it returned it to the owner. It was a success all around. What was hysterical was watching the TV piece and listening to us being termed an "elite group of divers." Doubly ironic, given how we dive.

You coyuld also try the modified flutter kick, or the shuffle kick. A good place to find out apout different fin strokes would be from cave books as they have developed a lot of different fin strokes to reduce silting
