Yeah...I did a dive with someone that had one of those masks a couple weeks ago. It worked pretty well actually. Not sure how reliable they are over the long run though.

there are many better ways to be spending 120$....especially on SCUBA equipment...

Cochran came out w/a HUD display about 97-98. I don't thing it ever REALLY took though. It was intigrated to the computer.
Cochran has had a HUD on display at DEMA since even before that time, but I don't think they've yet to produce a real product. It's become a running joke in the industry.

In the last 60 days I had a back and forth chat with marketing at Cochran. In the email I asked about the H.U.D. they said it was still in research and development. (I own a Cochran Gemini Plus).

As for the mask in this thread, it was available for a short while at the end of last year first part of this year in a big So Cal dive chain. When I asked 6 months ago what happened they said they had too many returns but didn't say why, so it was discontinued.

The Oceanic mask is NOT a HUD. Its just a low level light built into the top of the mask frame. Let's you see whatever you hold up close to it. Likely destroys your night vision too I would think.

I think true HUD will eventually make the grade but it will be awhile.

I want windshield wipers and defrosters on my mask.
