You are correct WreckWriter, the LED mask had a few bright green LED's above the nose on the front and a small button that allowed the wearer to pick from 3 states - constantly on, blinking rapidly, and blinking slowly, and of course (off).

The Oceanic mask is NOT a HUD. Its just a low level light built into the top of the mask frame. Let's you see whatever you hold up close to it. Likely destroys your night vision too I would think.

I think true HUD will eventually make the grade but it will be awhile.
