Is it true that there are no yearly membersheep fees for CMAS*** (aka Divemaster) divers?

There's no fees in Europe at least. I have more than one clubmate who's CMAS*** certed, and they've never paid any membership fee.

No fees. We are certified as divers, not workers. Even our instructors are frequently doing it for free, for the benefit of the club, which is a nonprofit entity.

I have gone the National(Snorkel Class, 3rd Class, serving my apprenticeship)/CMAS route. Unfortunately with the arrival of the commercials, the requirements have been lowered. There is an unfortunate tendency to run down the opposition. I trained for the love of the sport and not for monetary reward. My standard advice now is to consider the instructor and not the agency.

If you don't want to be member of a club, there is no fee

your cert. level is valid for life (not your medic cert. nor insurance !)
