CCSO IDENTIFIES MISSING DIVER

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has identified the missing SCUBA diver as XXXXXXXXXXXX Arcadia. CCSO Major Crime’s Unit detectives said the family has been notified. The MCU is on standby which is standard procedure in a missing person investigation of this nature.

Witt was reported missing to the U.S. Coast Guard and CCSO late Saturday morning. A search of the area west of Englewood several miles out into the gulf Saturday and Sunday was unable to locate the missing diver.

Due to inclement weather off shore, there has not been a search so far today, however, when the weather breaks, a CCSO aircraft will search the area according to Lt. Andy Kolba, head of the aviation unit.

When you guys have an incedent like this , how do you determine where to search and how do you decide what will be used (boats, aircraft, divers, etc.) ?
