LindaBluedolphin:
I have combed through some old threads about St. Croix and was thinking maybe someone had some more recent information.

I want to do an RCI trade, I am considering the Chenay Bay or the Carambola Beach Resort, both get good reviews in general in Trip Advisor. Anyone been to either recently?

Anyone have any experience with RCI and trades to St. Croix? easy, hard? How long did you have to wait after you submitted your request?

Also I was trying to check out dive operators and I found a few, anyone know anything about St. Croix Ultimate Bluewater Adventures (St. Croix Scuba).

I plan to go next year, but any information now would be helpful as I need to put in my trade request soon.

Thanks.

Did not stay at either resort but both were nice. We stopped at each. S.C.U.B.A. we dove with for 6 days. Nice Operation. Large boat as was mentioned in earlier post but we had a good time. Good folks. Diving was ok but nothing wonderful. Did not think the fish life was too good. The reefs are heavily fished by locals from what we were told by MANY, not just several people. STX is a neat island though. Much history. Be sure to go to Tim Duncans Parents Rest.. Dont recall the name, but there is a basketball player painted on the outside of the building, you cant miss it...lol. Next Time back to VI we will do BVI.

I too am an RCI member. We swapped last November for the Divi Carina which is on the southeast coast of the island. very nice and away from most everything. The villas for timeshare owners are across the street from the beach and sit up on a hill. great views and a little leg work up and down the steps, the islands only casino is also on the property. I would have stayed at the carambola but it was not available at the time and is fairly difficult to trade for, apparently not alot of units available. Both the carambola and chenay bay are on the north side which is where the diving is, Carambola would be my first choice for locatin. Dove with Anchor dive center, good people, nice experience, very close to dive sites. Small word of caution, Lots of coral bleaching occuring. Also, if you go to any of the secluded coves or beaches make sure you leave nothing on the beach of value if you're in the water. Let me know if you have any other questions I can help you with.

Thank you Mike and Seamason My request for a trade is still sitting there, with no movement. My RCI membership is up next year and I will probbly drop it, they seem to be more trouble then they are worth and trading is difficult (I am a weeks member). I still think St. Croix would be a great place to visit, guess I will just have to wait and see (and expand my search)
