Tis is another Xeno from earlier. You can see how they grow appendages to look like the coral. Or maybe the coral grows on them?

As "decorating" is common in crabs, I suspect the crab is attaching pieces of coral rather than "growing" them...

Different photos elicit different reactions... in most of Dennis' shots it's "Wow! I have got to go find one of those!"
This one... this one says "I have got to go to this place!"

just so you all know... Dennis won't be posting for a while.. he is back in the Philippines!!!

I know what you mean with catherines picture.
It is a haunting scene, one that I wish I had seen. Where as dennis shoots most macro with fantastic colors and interesting critters.

I suppose this is the difference between wide angle and macro.
