In the "Other Hobbies" thread the question came up as to what is your favorite movie. I thought this was intersesting enough to make a new thread. One of the classes I teach is History of American Cinema.
Picking an all time favorite is just imposible, but here are a few that are at the top of my list:
Koyaanisqatsi,
Much Ado About Nothing,
and
The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Now you've hit onto something I truely _am_ an expert at!

Let see... my all-time list, in no particular order, with plenty forgotten and list most likely reflecting my current moods and disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer...

Swingers - "Vegas Baby!"
Usual Suspects
Fight Club
Best of the Best
Any James Bond [if it's not Roger Moore or Sean Connery, it ain't Bond]
Three O'Clock High
True Believer
Highlander
Stargate
Austin Powers
The Hustler
The Mighty Quinn

That's what comes to mind when I run through the memory of "things I've seen more than 20 times each" :)

Well I too have quite a few... I mentioned a few of my favorites in the other thread, but why not name 'em all here? I like all kinds of movies, but ones that have to do with the war are my favorites!

1) Pearl Harbor
2) Saving Private Ryan
3) Black Hawk Down
4) The Fast and The Furious
5) Grumpier Old Men
6) Titanic
7) Remember the Titans
8) Erin Brockovich
9) October Sky
10) Behind Enemy Lines
11) The Rookie
12) A Beautiful Mind
13) I Am Sam

and the list goes on and on and on..................
:)

I could be listing them forever!!:)

Kayla:)

Support your Local Sheriff
Monty Pyton and the Holy Grail
Abyss
The Fastest gun Alive
Groundhog day
Scrooged
Forgotten Planet
Escape
Jaws
Godzilla
Godzilla (remake)
Big trouble in Little China

the list for now

My favorit:

Blade runner

One of the few times (to my knowledge) that a rater bad book was turned into a wonderfull movie.
:)

Ups. I fogot

Fargo
Lost highway

I also have a short list rather than just one.

Shawshank Redemption
Usual Suspects
Africa Queen
Sommersby

If I had to pick one, I would probably say Shawshank Redemption. I am a sucker for a good story about friendship.

10) Star Wars Trilogy

9) Any Indiana Jones

8) Jaws... gave me a phobia to overcome!

7) ET... phone home??? Naw, just send them an E-Mail!

6) Shawshank Redemption... I too have crawled through crap to get what I wanted.

5) Rocky and Bullwinkle... (the Movie) Just as schlocky as the series.

4) Rocky (NOT the sequels!)

3) Close Encounters of the Third kind.

2) Spys like Us

And the number one movie of all times (at least for this post)...

Groundhog Day... everyone should get another chance, and another, and another, ad nauseum.
