Has anyone had any experience replacing the 10W 6 degree HID bulb for the MR11?? I ordered my new bulb a couple of weeks ago and it should be here any day. Being that they cost $100 a pop, I don't want to mess it up. Dan from DJS told me not to use silicon on the lens O ring and the retaining O ring. He said just to lubricate with spit. But the LDS guy told me that I MUST use silicone. And are there any "tricks" it doing it the easy way?

Thanks in advance.

Do NOT use silicone. Besides the fact there is no need to, it will potentially screw up the bulb/reflector.

Also, make sure you don't touch the new bulb with your fingers. Use a lint free cloth or something similiar to hold and place the bulb. The glass cover and outer o-ring are a tight fit, and you need to go slowly and carefully. Use spit if you think you have to, but you don't.

Slow and careful and you'll do fine.
