My new poseidon phantom mask started to leak after three weeks of use.
Looking for a reason, any feedback would be helpful.

    Dear Sir/Madam

If there is a problem with your Phantom mask, please return it to the dealer where you bought it and they will help you check if there's anything wrong with the mask. If there is a manufacturing or material defect on the mask, it will be replaced under warranty.

    Best regards

Take the mask and fill it full of water. Pick it up. Does it leak out of the seal around the frame or anywhere else? If so, there is a defect and you should continue to try to get poseiden to replace it. Also, inspect the silicon and make sure there are no rough spots or tears - also likely a defect.

If none of that is true, there is a good chance they will just tell you there is nothing wrong with the mask itself. In that case, if you have a lot of hair, make sure it isn't in the seal. If you are male, make sure you have shaved recently as not shaving can cause a mask to leak a little. If you are wearing a hood, make sure the seal is under the hood. Also, make sure it is tight enough. Exhaust bubbles can jar masks and let them leak a little. It doesn't need to be bone jarring tight, but just snug enough your bubbles don't knock it around. Finally, if you are using a snorkel, try and take it off. Sometimes the snorkel flop around can lift the seal and make it leak a little.

    Ohio Divers,

A common mistake is to tighten the mask if it is leaking. This will often deform the mask and make it leak more. When showing students how to wear a mask I will flip the strap so it is in front of the mask. I then put the mask on my face and push it on like a suction cup. So long as I don't breath out my nose the mask should stay on. If you get this far and the mask sticks, you might just need to adjust the strap. If the mask will not stay on it is either defective (rare) or it just doesn't fit your face.

If the mask does stick it is important to understand that the strap doesn't keep the mask on your face. You are not using the strap and the mask is staying. The strap is there to hold the mask if someone kicks it, a strong current grabs it, etc. It doesn't need to be tight. It just need to be tight enough that you won't lose the mask in extra ordinary situations. I will be wearing my mask and EFFORTLESSLY pull my mask 4 inches from my face with the strap in place. I ask the student to do the same thing. They usually find they have to pull with all their might just to get the mask 2 inches from their face. Their strap is too tight. I have then loosen the strap a LOT and they find the leaking stops.

Another problem is that they will have their mask too high on their face. Their nose will be pushing against the nose pocket. I will have them move the mask down a little. This often feels odd to them but it fits better. Their nose is not deforming the nose pocket, the top of the mask is further from the hairline. So there is less chance they have hair in the skirt.

I had years of leaking masks and did a lot of experimenting. If you can find a mentor, DM, instructor who struggled with leaking masks and solved it, they should be able to help you with your... assuming it is just a fit problem and not a defective mask.

    Good luck.

Thanks guys----the mask worked fine for the first three weeks. Last weekend it started leaking, i adjusted the band and dove it again few days later it's still leaked. The mask leaks more when i turn my head to my left. My dive buddy was watching and seen bubbles escaping from the side of the mask.

Don't know if you'r post is still active but we dive AGA'S @ columbus fire and if your reg hose is too tight it could cause you to loose seal. Try letting the top strap all the way out and snug from the bottom up like a gas mask or SCBA mask.

? ? ? Sounds like you are thinking of a full face mask, which the Phantom is not . . . It's a normal low volume, two pane diving mask with a typical single strap . . . the reg doesn't touch it . . .

Mine leaked too and it was because it does not fit all faces very well. The Threedee mask is much more forgiving and fits more faces. It is also ugly and not nearly as nice as the Phantom. I had to give mine away and bought an Atomic subframe ARC.
