Maybe subtly try to find out from him what equipment he thinks he needs to complete his dive gear. For example, does he have a diving computer that is nitrox capable?

Custom colors are not an option he is basically your diver in black. Black suit, black tank, black fins, black bc. He did upgrade to a clear silicone mask.
We are thinking about another dive trip to either Roatan or Bonaire but our son has been stationed in Germany for 2 years so far and wants us to visit there. Alas, time and money will only allow us 1 trip a year. It's a really hard decision to make. It's not like we haven't seen him in 2 years but he is the one who always travels here.

If you go to Roatan, you will definitely like it. It has beautiful walls and ledges and it has protected national marine parks where the fish are actually fed. I dove it recently with Anthony's Key Divers and was very impressed. On the east coast of florida, I am usually carrying a gun. Sometimes, it is nice to just visit and watch these beautiful creatures up close and enjoy. Will be diving Bonaire in December for only one day. Writeups say it is also very nice.
