Use Upload a File. Or even easier, drag and drop the image from your computer onto a reply window.
Well, if you're going to be snarky about it, it's a standard keyboard command since around 1984 or so..and used on every keyboard since then afaik. Certainly since a little thing called Windows was developed since that's probably when I started using it - on Windows 2.0.Control-A? Now that's intuitive. Who's the audience for this board?
If you're going to be relying on Control keys to perform basic functions, then I'd recommend a User Guide ...

That's funny, it works for me. I just followed the exact process typing, using Ctrl-A and then having to retype this twice since it did.
You can also drag your mouse over all the text, highlight it, then hit the delete key for the same effect. Hovering in the text and double-clicking the mouse (single click on a Mac?) also has the same result.
You have to be in an editable window after the first time though. Otherwise it just works to highlight the text to be cut/paste into a new reply window instead. Or if you highlight a block of previously typed text - you'll notice that a small Quote/Reply Icon now enables - hitting either one of those moves just what you selected into a new reply window also.
