new divers looking for fun

we are new divers and are looking for our first "REAL" open water dive..... is there a place that someone can suggest to us that would be a great place to go for beginners getting out into the real world.... some where not too deep, great marine life, some where on the less expensive side. would love to hear from everyone.......

Bonaire is great for new divers. I'm not sure what you consider 'less expensive' though.
Were you trying to stay in the U.S.?
